A 14th-century castle acquired by the Antinori family in 1940, with 229 hectares under vine out of 600 total on the border between Umbria and Lazio. It is one of Italy's leading addresses for great white wines: Cervaro della Sala, first released in 1985, was among the first Italian whites fermented in barrique with malolactic, while Muffato della Sala is a rare passito made from botrytised grapes in the Sauternes tradition.
