Umani Ronchi Vineyards Between Tradition and Progress

MARCHE BETWEEN TRADITION AND INNOVATION

An unjustly little-known and underappreciated region, le Marche, given its incredible variety of offerings and its beauty.
It ranges from the sea to the hilly areas all the way to the breathtaking panorama offered by Monte Conero.
Port cities like the regional capital Ancona alternate with medieval villages where the origins of this region can be found, and where one breathes an air of peace and tranquility.
A day trip where a restorative stop accompanied by a good wine is a must.

In this case one can range from important reds to fresh and dry whites.
To this second category belongs a particular wine, the Vecchie Vigne Casal di Serra, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore from cantina Umani Ronchi.
Obtained from old vines planted in the early 1970s, it undergoes a long aging period, first in cement tanks in contact with native yeasts and subsequently in bottle.

It represents a link with the winery's historic viticultural tradition, being derived from an ancient vineyard that was initially set to be replaced with a new one.
A distinctive quality of Verdicchio lies in its ability to deliver excellent results even outside its historically designated growing area.
A wine of a beautiful deep yellow, it releases an enveloping floral perfume, anticipating a flavor rich in yellow fruits, dry and fresh, leaving a pleasant lingering finish.

Tradition is also accompanied by innovation.
The winery has recently completed its new barrel cellar, a small temple for the preservation of barrique.
The structure was built by excavating into the hillside and set on a slope to accommodate the pressure of the ground above. Every element was designed to achieve a constant optimal temperature and to control humidity levels, without the use of artificial means.
Finally, the metal wall covering the exterior facade, in addition to serving as a striking decorative architectural element, provides protection against solar radiation.
A worthwhile stop if you find yourself in the vicinity of Osimo, both for the beauty of the Marche landscapes, the fine cuisine, and the rich history of the winery told with passion by Andres Ariza, who will not fail to accompany it with a good glass of wine.
