Now let me introduce you to "DAMIAN"
Damian is a Traminer Aromatico D.O.C. produced by Tenuta Kornell; the one I'm going to taste was produced in 2012.
The wine presents itself visually brilliant with a beautiful golden yellow color and consistent in the glass with closely spaced arches and slow lacrimation.
On the nose it arrives intense, I would dare say broad and of fine quality, decidedly frank, aromatic, spiced, floral and fruity.
Among the descriptors we find the typical notes of Gewurztraminer: spices of cloves, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, floral aromas of rose, lavender and broom accompanied by citrus notes of grapefruit, lime and exotic fruits of lychee and ripe pineapple.
On the palate it arrives powerfully dry, warm, soft – it is a fresh and savory wine, full-bodied and balanced, which immediately reveals itself as intense and very persistent with a quality I would call excellent. Certainly harmonious, it leaves the mouth clean and invites a subsequent sip; it is a wine that does not disappoint expectations.
To pair with salumi trentini, beef carpaccio, raw fish (for enthusiasts like me), goat cheeses, tagliatelle al tartufo, blue cheeses and egg-based preparations.
It has an alcohol content of 13.5% vol. and should be served at a temperature of 10/12°C.
It can be found in wine shops from approximately €12 to €16; which seems like a fair and reasonable price!
It is very popular with the ladies given the delicacy of its aromas; for this reason I recommend it to male winelovers who intend to make a good impression and impress the fairer sex, perhaps during a pleasant aperitivo dinner!
I bid you farewell as always, asking you to try this wine, wishing you only the very best and hoping you'll let me know what you think.
Cheers, good health and bubbles to all
