Campanian winemaking is rooted in antiquity: Taurasi, Aglianico, Fiano, Greco di Tufo and Falanghina tell of one of southern Italy's richest enological heritages.

History and terroir

Campania guards one of the Mediterranean's most ancient wine traditions: the Greeks brought Aglianico here in the 6th century BC, and the region produced prestigious wines already in Roman times.

Southern Italy's only red DOCG is Taurasi DOCG, made from pure Aglianico in Irpinia: a powerful, long-lived wine. Other DOCGs are Fiano di Avellino DOCG and Greco di Tufo DOCG.

Falanghina is the most widespread white variety. On the Amalfi Coast and Capri, heroic wines are produced on cliff-side terraces.
