LANGHE NEBBIOLO CASCINA SARIA VINTAGE 2010
ALCOHOL CONTENT 14%
This is a wine that expresses all the typical characteristics of the grape variety and its territory, capable of conveying to our palate the passion and care with which it is followed in every phase that takes it from the cluster to our glass.
The grapes are trained with Guyot system with an east-facing vineyard exposure, a yield of 75 q.li per hectare ensures an excellent concentration of aromas and an outstanding structure.
Aging is carried out in barrique for approximately 12 months, mainly using small second-passage barrels (90% of the total) so as to enhance its best qualities without distorting its personality.
In the glass it presents itself with a beautiful clear ruby red color with a slight garnet rim. Its fine consistency is revealed by numerous and dense arching legs.
On the nose it is intense and complex with spiced aromas that bring us sensations of cocoa and tobacco but also floral notes (rose) and fruity notes (plum) with a slight mineral vein completing a decidedly interesting olfactory spectrum.
On the palate it is dry with a good freshness that gives it a pleasant drinkability. Warm and appropriately tannic, but the tannin is fine, elegant and well integrated into the structure of the wine itself.
A wine therefore that makes balance its strong point; the wine tasted is already ready to drink and will have a few more years of longevity.
We served it in large glasses and left it to oxygenate for a few minutes at a temperature of 18° before beginning our tasting, and while tasting this nebbiolo I imagined it paired with a lovely dish of wild boar with olives.
Until the next tasting.
