Over 12,000 operators, more than 2,500 buyers (approximately 22% of the total) and 60 nations represented: Veronafiere wraps up the special edition of Vinitaly. These are the key figures from the Vinitaly Special Edition that has just concluded, in a context certainly of recovery, but in a completely different scenario compared to that of the last edition.
"This is a result beyond our expectations – declares the president of Veronafiere, Maurizio Danese -. Companies, consortia, agricultural and supply chain associations have rewarded the project of this business initiative, which recorded high levels of unanimous satisfaction. This in-person event - Danese concludes – fits into a scenario of great acceleration in the export of made in Italy across all major target markets, including the domestic one. We are living through a period of strong recovery in which Veronafiere acts as a fundamental driver for the internationalisation of SMEs and Italian wine, committed to increasing sales value."
Indeed, some of the leading wine companies of enological Italy did not miss their appointment with this special edition. From Marchesi di Barolo to Terredora, from Marramiero to Planeta, from north to south some of Italy's leading wine producers answered "present!" – finding interest from international operators who also chose to attend.
The map of countries present at Vinitaly Special Edition includes Europe (with the Nordic countries, Germany and France leading), Russia, the United States and Canada driving demand for Italian wine at the fair, followed by Eastern Europe (Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic), the United Kingdom and China, which made its return right here in Verona. "A geography - comments Giovanni Mantovani, general director of Veronafiere – perfectly aligned with the growth data recorded in international markets which, in the first 7 months of this year, showed an overall rebound of 15% compared to the same period last year. We confirmed a highly qualified special edition, also thanks to the support of Ice-Agenzia - Mantovani continues - with foreign operators coming from precisely the areas where Italian wine is growing significantly. Now - the director concludes - we look ahead to 2022, to deliver a great 54th Vinitaly."
The appointment for the 54th edition is scheduled from 10 to 13 April 2022.
