It Will Be the Aur-oura in the Hills of Carpeneto

Aur-oura: an excellence of the Monferrato

Among the gentle hills of the Alto Monferrato, a new winery has recently been completed – almost a small jewel: Rocco di Carpeneto.
A place of peace surrounded by vineyards that leaves room for both meditation and the tasting of excellent wines.
The estate encompasses just over 5 hectares of vineyards, arranged to encircle the winery on the vast ancient alluvial plateau that characterizes this small terroir north of the village of Carpeneto.

The winery represents the pinnacle of modernity, placed at the service of a philosophy aimed at creating a non-interventionist structure, in deep respect for traditional practices, the varied characteristics of the micro-terroirs from which the grapes originate, and the natural climatic variability of each harvest year.

In particular, the underground barrel cellar was built with river stones laid as walls, allowing for natural temperature control that keeps it at a constant level.
Production is focused exclusively on native grape varieties such as dolcetto, barbera, cortese, nebbiolo, albarossa, and the classic white cortese, in line with a philosophy of enhancing the historic vocations of the terroir.

Among these, worth highlighting is Aur-oura, a Monferrato Dolcetto DOC – a full-bodied red wine that gives its best when left to breathe in the glass for a little while before being enjoyed at its finest.
A wine made exclusively from dolcetto grapes (as per the production regulations) from vineyards ranging in age from 12 to 42 years. Aur-oura is a word from the Carpeneto dialect of the second half of the nineteenth century, and means "just now".

It made its debut at the winery's inauguration on June 8, 2013, an event accompanied by fine food and excellent music, thanks to the two owners Paolo and Lidia, truly exceptional hosts.
At first pour, it offers both a beautiful ruby red color and a full wine aroma that fills the nose.
On the palate it is soft and dry, with hints of fruit and spice – best enjoyed at a leisurely pace, embraced by the quiet of the hills adorned with magnificent vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see.
