Vernaccia di San Gimignano was the first Italian white wine to obtain DOC status (1966) and then DOCG (1993). Grown exclusively in the municipality of San Gimignano (Siena, Tuscany). It produces structured wines with a profile of citrus, bitter almond, white flowers and a slightly bitterish finish.
